Media

The Media module lets users upload and store images and Files at any location on the hierarchy. The Media module has four tabs: Images, All location Images, Documents, and All Location Documents.

Images Tab

The Images Tab shows the Component structure associated to the location of the hierarchy that you are currently on. The right section has four buttons when images have been added.

  • Create New adds an image to that location
  • Edit lets you edit the selected image and its description.
  • Delete lets you delete the selected image.
  • Reload refreshes the images module.

The images are displayed on a carousel, letting you scroll through each of the images by clicking the Prev and Next buttons.

Note

When uploading images if the image is larger than 500KB it will be automatically resized down to an appropriate size.

All Location Images Tab

This tab lets you see all the images in the hierarchy location. It shows: the image description, Location Description, Location Code, Node Description and a thumbnail of the image. This is able to be viewed in card and grid view.

    Note

Images can be added at any location including the Component Library and Assembly Library.

  2. Add Images to the location by going to the Images tab and selecting Create New.

  3. Add an Image Description and select an image file.

  4. Select Save and your image will be shown in the image carousel.

Document Management System (DMS)

Orien has the option to allocate and manage files used across several databases. These files have revision functionality so all updates to the files are logged. All uses of that file are updated to the latest version whenever updated.

DMS Config

Orien's DMS can be configured at the Database Level. At this level, files can be uploaded, Folders can be added and edited, and all available Files can be downloaded. Changes at to the file, updates all uses of the file throughout the hierarchy - like a reference.

Folders can be added and named to match the site or project's requirements. These Folders can also have a Max Limit applied (only a set number of files of this type can be allocated) or a folder set as Mandatory (a warning is shown if this is missing) - these settings are optional. Once the Folders have been defined, they will appear in the Hierarchy.

Media - Documents Tab

Inside the Media Module, the Documents Tab enables the allocation of files to an asset. This ensures that all relevant information about the asset's tactic development (or any additional documents) can be captured and viewed in Orien.

The folders defined in the config will be available on the screen. When allocating a file, select the folder matching the file you want to allocate, then select Allocate.

A list of available files will then be shown, you can upload your own file, allocate an existing file, or update an existing file. If a file is Uploaded or Updated, it can then be Allocated to the current Asset's Folder.

Once it's been allocated to the Asset/Location, any updates made to that file will also affect the file. This file is accessible to any user who has DMS permissions for that database.
